Adversity

Today I feel my aspirations renewed, restored so to speak. I know this quote had always been around, I guess it just caught me at a good time when it seems everything around me is going down. Now I know it may sound cheesy and all but here it goes. " Without the bitterness of winter, we would never cherish the warmth of summer. If we've never tasted defeat, we would never truly appreciate our victories.

I don't know who the author of this particular quote is but a big thanks to him all the same. Now where I am from, there is no winter. Philippines is a tropical nation after all and we have only 2 seasons, the summer and the rainy season. Although I guess we'll be adding two new ones anytime soon known as the extremely rainy season and the extremely hot. Thanks to global warming and those who believe it to be just a myth.

Anyway, going back. I would admit that I have my share of failures, who wouldn't. Now people I guess remember and highlight our failures more than our success. What we have achieved is insignificant compared to what we didn't. Personally, my parents remind me of that every day. I guess it's becoming their way of unwinding nowadays, to blow off some steam. Nothing hurts more than being compared and to be told indirectly about what a total loser you are. As you may all realize by now, things are not doing so great for me.

What I realize though is that these are all adversities, if you let it get to you nothing good will ever come out of it. Let your failures shape you into someone wiser so that the next time you can truly say that you know better. The only real failure in life is the inability to learn from it.

Someday, I will truly make something great out of my life. That is my goal, and I never shall lose sight of it. Everyone can count on it.

Me saying all this, obviously I'm just all starting out wondering if I'm cut out for all this. I've always enjoyed working with computers ever since I was little, some might say that I was somehow raised around computers. That time then it was all about games, so much hours spent playing games on that screen and several more spent on trying to get them to work. There then was an entry point to troubleshooting. Reading through the system requirements of each games I borrowed from a school mate, wondering why it would not work. Checking out the specifications of my CPU. I guess from that early stand point, one thing led to another. Soon I was the computer technician of the house and my family would often ask me for help whenever they had issues with their desktop and laptop computers. The freedom online. I guess that ...
